Super Saturday Success!!!

Thanks to all those you participated in the Super Saturday!!! It was one of the biggest our ward has ever had (maybe that's because this is the biggest our ward has ever been:) ). Our Enrichment committee did and amazing job putting together such an awesome day of crafts, classes, lunch and friendshiping!! The crafts all came out amazing and everyone had so much fun working and being creative. The classes were a total hit.

The digital scrapbooking class was so neat and Marcia did a fantastic job. If any of you need help she has said she would be able to give one on one instructrions, just ask.

The bread that Jen made was AmAzInG!!! Here is the recipe:
These measurements are for a Kitchen-Aid mixer (making 2 loaves) If you are using a Bosch mixer you can double the recipe (making 4 loaves)
5 1/4 cups white bread flour or wheat flour(do not use all-purpose flour)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 rounded tablespoon salt
1 1/2 rounded tablespoon saf-instant yeast
1 1/2 tablespoon liquid lecithin*
2 cups hot tap water
Mix dry ingrdients. Add lecithin and water. Mix for 1 min. and check consistency. If dough is too dry, add more water. Dough should be very sticky. Mix for 7 min. (Kithchen Aid) or 5 min. ( Bosch). Do not add flour to the dough after it has finished mixing. Spray counter, pans and hands with cooking spray. Shape loaves and cover with a dish towel. Let rise 25 min. Bake at 350 degrees fpr 25 mins. Remove bread from pans and onto cooling rack immediately.
For wheat bread, use the same recipe but add 1/2 cup applesause (1 cup for 4 loaves) as part of the hot water and 1/2 tablespoon lecithin (1 tablespoon for 4 loaves) Mix for 12 min (Kitchen Aid) or 10 min. (Bosch)
*Spray measuring spoon with cooking spray before measuring, thne wipe-out with a paper towel to clean.
Jen also passed out a page of really great things and recipies to make using this bread recipe. Ask for a copy to help spice up your family dinners!!!

Lastly we had the Carmel Apple demonstration by Kristi. This was a favorite of most and if you tasted the apples at the end you know why. Everything from carmel, chocolate, white chocolate, cinnamon, oreos and all kinds of candy bars. If you have a sweet tooth or even a tiny sugar addiction like me could never stop eating this delicious treat! Here is the carmel recipe Kristi uses:
2 1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup karo (light)
1 can sweetend condensed milk
Cook to softball stage (240 on the thermometer) stir constantly over medium heat. Then dip your apples!!!

Thanks again to everyone who helped in any way to make this such a great event!! Check back for an update on photos from this day. See if you got caught on camera!!! :)
